Priest, the iconic healer, meander of wounds, giver of blessings preacher of words of power. But not only that, for the priest also has the ability to dabble in the horrors of shadow, darkness to speak words of shadow and attack the mind of their opponent, causing untold misery and pain.

Priests are a staple to any group, granting many buffs and powerful spells for any who would call them ally, the priest in Wrath received many changes to their class. In fact, the one unique part about priests that separated them from all other classes was taken away in wrath.

Priest racials, many of the spells were removed entirely, and only a few were made baseline and one made into a talent. Besides the priest racials, the class received much needed spells which completed their spell book, new spells such as mind, seer causes an explosion of shadow magic around the enemy target, causing shadow damage every one second for five seconds to all enemies within 10 yards around the target.

Now if you’ve played Shadow Priests, you know that you really needed a new AOE ability in Wrath of the Lich King, Shadow Priests finally get that in the form of mind seer, which is a very powerful new Shadow Priest AOE ability of course, you know, you don’t have to be a Shadow Priest to use mind SEER but its baseline spell, but of course.

Shadow Priests will get that bonus shadow damage if their shadow also divine him which heals three nearby lowest health friendly party or raid targets within 40 yards every two seconds for eight seconds and increases healing done to them by 10% for eight seconds maximum of 12 heals the priest must channel to maintain the spell is a very powerful raid healing ability.

Now let’s talk about some of these changes. Starting with discipline.

We’ve got twin disciplines which increases the damage and healing done by our instant cast spells by 5%. Kind of nice, you’ve also got Sol wording which reduces the cooldown of your Power Word Shield by four seconds and reduces the mana cost of your Power Word Shield by 15%. This is a staple Power Word Shield is basically going to be spammed all the time if you’re playing discipline.

There’s also a new talent called improved Flash Heal, which reduces the mana cost of your Flash Heal by 15% and increases the critical effect chance of your Flash Heal by 10% on friendly targets at or below 50%.

Health very good healing for when your targets obviously are lower health. Also we have renewed hope increases the critical effect chance of your Flash Heal greater heal and penance healing part of that spells by 4% on targets afflicted by the weakened soul effect and you have a 100% chance to reduce all damage taken by 3% for one minute to all friendly party and raid members. So this is very powerful, especially in PvP, right if people are dispelling your shields, it’s only going to energize your teammate or yourself more.

Of course, if it is completely absorbed, you’re also going to get that benefit this is very very nice. The effect can only occur once every 12 seconds. Another amazing discipline talent is called aspiration, which reduces the cooldown of your inner focus, Power Infusion, pain suppression and penance spells by 20%.

This is a very nice talent because these are very strong abilities inner focus is very powerful reducing the mana cost of your next belt to zero Power Infusion obviously is going to make that spellcaster do so much more damage and reduce their mana cost pain suppression is an excellent damage mitigation abilities.

All these are very strong priest abilities that you’d absolutely want their cooldowns reduced. One of my personal favorites in the discipline tree is divine ages critical heals create a protective shield on the target absorbing 30% of the amount healed that lasts 12 seconds.

This is just so much fun. In my opinion, whenever you get a critical Hill you’re basically giving them a shield on top of that it’s just so much absorb upon absorb when it comes to discipline priest and it’s so much fun. Now another great discipline talent is called grace your Flash Heal greater heal and pennant spells have a 100% chance to bless the target with Grace increasing all healing received from the priest by 3% stacking up to three times per 15 seconds but grace can only be active on one target at a time.

So this is very nice a 9% total increase to all healing very nice stackable talent there. Another talent is borrowed time grants 25% spell haste for your next spell after casting Power Word Shield and increases the amount absorbed by your Power Word Shield equal to 40% of your spell power. So this is very nice borrowed time essentially making any spell you cast after Power Word Shield faster.

This can be very helpful in PvP situations where you want to maybe get out very quick holy fire or you want to have your penance channel faster, very, very powerful. Speaking of penance, this is the final ability all the way at the bottom of the discipline tree which launches a volley of holy light at the target causing a holy damage to an enemy or healing an ally instantly every second for two seconds.

So this is a very powerful new discipline priest ability very strong in both PvP and PvE in scenarios where you need to quickly heal or quickly do some damage to an enemy very, very strong discipline ability. Now moving on from discipline let’s talk a little bit about new holy talents.

Finding groups for either PvP or PvE will never be difficult if you love the fantasy Have spinning a shadow magic yet also wants to be able to heal. No other class can do both besides priest, the priest is the only class that can play both sides of shadow and light.
